All participants and their partners are invited to register for the conference social events. Bookings must be made in advance with online registration or contact Simple Meetings for assistance with later bookings.

Early Registration Social

Tuesday, July 9 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

no cost for conference registrants

This is an opportunity to pick up your registration packet early, enjoy a beverage and meet up with colleagues before the conference begins. Visit the CEF 2013 Welcome Desk in the Junior Ballroom Foyer on the 3rd floor of the North Tower.

Conference Opening Reception

Wednesday, July 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

no cost for conference registrants; guest tickets $55 USD

All conference registrants are invited to the Opening Reception at the Steamworks Pub and Brewery, serving local beer and tasty pub fare on the waterfront in historic Gastown. Enjoy an evening of casual fun including billiards and an interactive beer tasting led by the Steamworks’ brewmaster.

Round out your evening exploring Gastown, Vancouver's oldest neighbourhood. Designated a National Historic Site in 2009, Gastown was established the same year Canada became a nation. Block upon block of grand Victorian buildings hold memories of Gastown's reign as Canada's third-largest city and one of the most cosmopolitan. Today, these Old World aesthetics prove a glorious backdrop for today's urban lifestyle. With over 180 shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and clubs, Gastown is the hub of creative talent, independent businesses, award winning bars and restaurants and fashion forward boutiques.

Conference Dinner Cruise
Thursday, July 11 from 7:00 to approximately 10:00 p.m.

additional cost for all registrants and guests - $80 USD

Join us for the CEF 2013 Conference Dinner aboard the MV Magic Charm.  Cruise around scenic Burrard Inlet and English Bay with a narrated tour provided by the captain while enjoying drinks, hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner and wine.  Known for its abundant natural beauty, Vancouver is best viewed from the water and there is no better way than from the Magic Charm with your SCE colleagues.
