Post-Doctoral Research Position

Agent-based Computational Economics and Experimental Economics

University (Taiwan) is looking for applicants for one post-doctoral
position sponsored by National Science Council Project "Emergent
Complexity of Cognitive, Psychological and Cultural Factors: An Integrated
Framework of Agent-Based Computational Economics, Experimental Economics
and Neuroeconomics". The position is for 2.5 years starting Feb. 1st,
2010.
Candidates should hold a PhD degree in economics, computer science,
psychology, or related fields. Programming skills or experience with
agent-based computational models and/or human experiments are considered
as an additional asset. Applicants should have genuine interest in
carrying out active research in the interdisciplinary areas of
computational economics, experimental economics, behavioral economics, and
neuroeconomics. Command of the Chinese language is not necessary.

PostDoc / Research Assistant
Professor Thomas Lux at the Department of Economics, Christian-Albrechts-
Universität zu Kiel (Germany) seeks to fill a post-doc position, initially
for two years, with the possibility of a two-year extension pending a
positive evaluation. The salary is based on the German public pay scale (TV-
L 13, previously BAT IIa) and the weekly workload is 38.7 hours.
The ideal candidate will have recently graduated with a PhD in quantitative
economics or a related field, and is expected to contribute to one of the
following research areas:
Estimation of agent-based models
Analysis of network structures in financial markets
Volatility modeling and risk management
In addition, the successful candidate will have to teach two courses per
semester in economics and/or quantitative finance at the Bachelor and/or
Masters level, with each course carrying a weekly teaching load of two
hours. The successful applicant will also have to take over administrative
duties.
Recent PhDs from fields other than quantitative economics/finance, in
particular from physics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering, are
explicitly encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate an active research
interest in the above topics.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Goethe University is
seeking to fill two positions at the Junior Professor level in its Department
of Money and Macroeconomics. The positions are initially limited to six years,
with a successfully passed mid-term review being required. Candidates in both
empirical macroeconomics and macroeconomic theory will be considered.
Candidates should show strong research potential and a capacity for effective
teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Each position holds a
teaching load of 4 hours per week in the Ph.D., M.Sc., and undergraduate
programs in Economics, and has a half-time teaching/research assistant position
affiliated to it. Applications must be received by December 7, 2009. We plan to
interview candidates at the ASSA meeting. The positions are subject to final
budgetary approval.
