Travel and Local Information

Flights to Ottawa

Ottawa International Airport (YOW) is located south of downtown Ottawa, approximately 20 minutes driving to downtown or 10 minutes driving to Carleton University. Link to airport website: ground transportation

Local Transportation

Our suggested hotels (Novotel, Alt and Albert at Bay) and indeed most hotels in Ottawa, are located approximately 10-15 minutes driving from Carleton University. Convenient public transportation and ride share services are available for transfers between hotels and campus, thus the conference has not arranged for direct shuttles.

Currently Carleton University is served by bus lines 7 and 10, and by O-Train line 2 (Trillium line) from the Bayview station, connecting by way of a short bus ride from the downtown hotels. We expect before the end of June the new O-Train line 1 (Confederation line) will begin service, providing fast and frequent light rail transport from downtown to Carleton with one transfer at the Bayview station. When the Confederation line opens the bus options will change, and we will update information on this page when we know the details. Until then, these links may prove useful for your initial planning:
